SMS or Short Messaging Service is a technology that allows you to send text messages of around 150 characters (it varies by service) between cellular telephones.
SMS has developed a lingo all of its own. Since the messages have a maximum length and it's tough (for some people) to type on a phone keypad, SMS fans tend to use a lot of abbreviations instead of full works.
